EqualityPA's mission is to achieve equality for lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) individuals in Pennsylvania through educational campaigns and policy reform.

Founded in 1996, EqualityPA speaks to thousands of individuals yearly through panels, forums and workshops to educate the LGBT community, our allies and the larger community about issus of importance to LGBT people.

We participate in grassroots and organizational coalitions to create systemic change and policy reform for the LGBT community. Our alliances include the Equality Federation, the National Coalition of Anti-Violence Projects (NCAVP), the Value All Families Coalition, and the Statewide Pennsylvania Rights Coalition (SPARC), among others.

We love our volunteers!

Every day EqualityPA relies on volunteers. Volunteers staff our phone banks, mail out announcements about events, enter data into our databases, conduct legal research, and staff events.

Each year, EqualityPA presents the Sara Weaver Volunteer of the Year Award to an outstanding volunteer. Sara passed away in 2003 and this award recognizes those people who embody her spirit and belief in volunteering through their work at Equality Advocates.

Donors come in all shapes and sizes. Some of our donors send us a donation when they hear of an issue we are working on that is important to them.

Other donors come to all our events and give to us through their admission to an event.
